About
Martha Nicholls
I am a warm, person-centered Music Therapist, accredited by HCPC and a full member of BAMT. I can help you to discover different sides of yourself and how your life experiences and patterns of relating might be affecting your happiness and growth. Working in a trauma-informed, feminist and psychodynamic framework, we will use elements of songwriting, musical improvisation, lyric analysis and traditional talking therapy to build a trusting and secure therapeutic foundation. When you feel ready, we can start to gently explore your reasons for reaching out and the traumas that you may be holding on to. Here at Martha Nicholls Music Therapy, I would love to hear from you to see if we may be a good fit and to start your therapeutic journey.

01.
I offer 50 minute individual music therapy sessions for you or your child, either online using a secure platform or in person in my therapy room in East London (E2). We will agree contractual agreements together, but sessions are usually open-ended and long term. Please see the 'Music Therapy' page for more information about what sessions may entail.
02.
I also offer 60 minute online or in-person SMI therapy sessions. These are usually offered in a series of 6 weekly or fortnightly sessions, with clear goals focussed on building up your inner resources and strengths. Please see the 'Music & Imagery' page for more information about this method of psychotherapy.
03.
I can also offer face-to-face group music therapy sessions for 50 - 90 minutes and with a maximum of ten people. These can be useful when working with organisations, teams and schools to allow participants to reflect on dynamics within the group. These sessions will be charged per person - please contact to discuss.
